Definitely you must be thinking whats special in these two places..normal cities with some high end things.. but no there are certain things which makes places famous or special. these 2 are kinda that only..
Shinbashi is bit closer to Tokyo station and all high rise buildings you can see here. many famous companies headquarters are established at this place.. One of such companies is Nippon television. Nittele tower. Its a huge tower surrounded by many other towers. Buidling is quite attractive. the architecture etc is unique. One more interesting thing is it has one ringing clock at the entrance. And that clock performs certain activities while ringing at specific time like morning 10, 15, 18, 21:00. its not basically show but something different it is. just 4-5 mins it rings with certain activities happening. good to see such things which are not crowded places.
Now lets goto Akihabara. This is digital and Anime hub of Japan. All varieties of animes are available here. Also there are lots of big electronics shops/showrooms where you get all electronics stuff at one place. A colorful place is famous also for Maid cafe and Gundam cafe. Maid cafe girls are standing on roads for publicity in the maid costume. Gandam cafe is something unique. It has robo theme. with some animes telecasted continuously. Also one unique thing is it has robo toilet. Once you go inside toilet, toilet seat opens automatically. Then if you press one button then its totally blackout and certain theme played with robot eyes blinking, focus lights in toilet etc.. fun to have such kinda experience once in life.
Both the places are at the center of Tokyo and well connected by trains and buses. Do visit these when in Tokyo.
